Jackie Wenman married Ben Snook on the 13th August 2011. Jackie approached me to create bracelets for her bridesmaids.
Jackie’s theme was butterflies and her colour theme was cobalt blue so we immediately thought that the bracelets, whatever design they were, had to include a butterfly charm of some sort. Having sourced cobalt blue 12mm pearls that matched the bridesmaids’ outfits, Jackie chose a simple elasticated bracelet design adorned with a silver butterfly charm.
Jackie’s mother, Viv then approached me as she was struggling to find jewellery to match her outfit which had a mixture of colours in including black and coral. Viv decided to opt for Swarovski Peach Pearls rather than Coral as she was concerned the Coral might be too bright.
Viv loved the Graduating Swarovski Pearl Necklace I had made last year for Anna’s wedding so we decided to emulate this design using 12mm, 10mm and 8mm Swarovski Peach pearls.
Mother of the Bride Necklace:
I made a simple elasticated bracelet to match using 12mm Swarovski Peach pearls. Viv also wanted simple earrings to match. She normally wears stud earrings but I said that drop earrings would be different for her making them special and would move as she moved catching guests’ eyes. So we decided to use smaller 8mm Swarovski Peach pearls to make them a delicate design.
Mother of the Bride Bracelet and Earrings:
One thing I learnt from doing this wedding commission is that I must purchase a Swarovski Crystal Pearl Colour Chart which contains pearls in size 8mm, a size guide and samples of the different pearl shapes by Swarovski. To be honest I did not know one existed for pearls until doing this order so am very pleased to have discovered it.
This will make it easier for my client’s to visualise each colour available and put up against their outfits. This would have helped Viv determine if Peach was definitely the right colour over the Coral pearl and really put our minds at rest. I think she made the right decision as the Peach is a lovely soft colour which will go with Coral and many other colours so she can wear the jewellery again in the future.
I would like to congratulate Mr and Mrs Snook on their marriage and wish them all the best for the future.
Hope you have enjoyed viewing these designs and I would be happy to hear any comments.
